Electrolysis is a progressive treatment. Overnight results should not be expected as the hairs will weaken over time. It is difficult to say exactly how long this will take as there are several deciding factors but we will be able to discuss this and give estimates during your initial consultation.
Each individual hair is treated by inserting a tiny surgical probe into the hair follicle, with this in place, a tiny impulse of energy is transmitted down the hair root. The hair is then taken out, but not pulled. This is repeated over the entire area until it is cleared of unwanted hair.
For electrolysis to have a long term effect on hair growth, you will need to take a series of treatments. It works by weakening the hair over time so eventually it stops growing. Every person is different in the time it actually takes for the hair to stop growing, it depends on other factors such as whether you have tampered with the hair or not.
We are offering following methods-
Galvanic-direct current-removes hair by chemical means. It suits curved, distorted follicles (is the slowest)
Short –wave diathermy-high frequency alternating current with heat used to destroy tissues bu coagulation. It’s faster than galvanic, but there is higher % of regrowth
Blend –the most popular-combines galvanic and high frequency The most effective.
Advantage of electrolysis-any colour of the hair can be treated, effective on hair that is lighter thanthe skin, exposure to mthe sun is not contraindicated. But it is slower. Laser/Ipl is fats and effective, while electrolysis is slow but sure.
Waxing - warm wax using traditional wax heater, disposable spatulas and strips. The wax is heated in the thermostatically controlled pot to a temperature of 40-40 degrees Celsius. The wax is applied directly onto the skin and then removed using paper or muslin strips.
Hot wax is used at a higher temperature. The thermostatically controlled heater maintains a working temperature of 48-50 degrees Celsius. The wax is applied in patches using a spatula and allowed to cool. As the wax cools down it sets around the hair and when removed from the area, it takes with it the hair beneath. The patch of wax and the hair can be completely disposed of. Hot wax is favoured for Brazilian and Hollywood waxing treatments.
Brazilian Waxing Treatments-Softer, smoother, baby soft skin - Brazilian waxing was so named after the rich and famous men and women who needed an all bare-there bikini wax in order to sport their much loved itsy-bitsy thongs on the beach. This wax traditionally leaves nothing behind. A Brazilian wax for women usually includes the waxing of the sensitive labia as well as between the buttocks which is why it can feel a little more painful than a traditional bikini wax, though many people claim the pain isn't much different.
Don't be embarrassed - if it is your first bikini wax remember: just like your doctor anyone specialising in 'extreme' bikini waxing has seen it all before and will do their best to put you at ease.
Do exfoliate regularly after a wax. ingrowing hair folicles are the main problem after a wax and can be difficult to prevent due to the random direction of hair growth. Regular exfoliation will definitely help and applying a tea-tree oil or cream can help reduce redness and inflammation from ingrowing hair folicles.
Do go prepared - if it's your first wax, or you haven't been recently, you should trim your hairs to about 2cm or less making sure to leave enough hair for the wax to hold onto. Ripping out long hairs is far more painful.
Do relax - I realise that just the thought of a bikini wax is enough to make most people sweat, but the more relaxed you are the easier it will be to pull the hair out. Take a deep breath and then lie back and think of a happy place.
Do give it a go - if you don't like the look it will all grow back, but like Gwyneth Paltrow once said, My first Brazilian wax was a life changing experience!
